With the MCO being lifted, scores of shops and malls in town are starting to reopen, adopting their own version of social distancing and monitoring. One of the first malls I visited was Suria KLCC. Most of the shops were opened although with a limited number of patrons allowed in.

The popular ones, such as Machines, had a long queue outside. While restaurants appeared to be popular with the tables placed spaced apart.

The queue and the signing in with apps could be a deterrent somewhat, and I only ended up entering shops which I am confident I would buy something from. No window shopping, I am afraid.

The opening hours of the shops were also shorter than before the lockdown, with most shops closing before 8 pm.

However, over the last few visits, the number of shoppers were definitely on the up. The economy really needed business to restart, but it would take time.
