Umbrellas at Timothy

The KL cafe scene has been up and down. With the suspected upcoming recession, the outlook is not great, but that did not stop a few outlets taking risks. And we sure glad that they did. One of them was Timothy, located at Jalan Tun HS Lee.

Not exactly the easiest place to reach. Parking was tricky, and the fact that it was located in a one-way street did not help matters. There are a few parking spots nearby, but they were expensive. Your best bet would be to either use Grab or use the LRT through Masjid Jamek station and walk there. It would only wake you five minutes, but the traffic could be heavy.

Anyhow, once you got there, you would be glad that you came. The general area had a few other cafes - LOKL was one of them. I did not sample the food since I came alone that afternoon, and I already had a full tummy from an earlier lunch. I plan to come here on another day with Anita. The main attraction was the side lanes and mural. The cafe had a rustic theme to it, and this extended outside. The narrow lane was covered with colourful umbrellas, which were both practical and eye-catching.

The murals on the wall were done by Jean Lynn - @jlynnppg on Instagram. Colourful and full of cats. There was also a tree motif with recycled water bottles forming the flowers. Simple but unique. And should I add durable?

I would definitely be returning here again with Anita, but we will be taking Grab. I read some reviews about the place which apparently can get rather crowded during lunch. We would probably stop by for tea on a Sunday.
